Court of Appeals Policies

POLICY CONCERNING CITATION OF OPINIONS NOT SELECTED FOR OFFICIAL PUBLICATION:

Opinions not selected for official publication may be cited to the Colorado Court of Appeals only to explain the case history, identify the law of the case, or assert the doctrines of issue preclusion or claim preclusion.  No other citation of opinions not selected for publication is permitted in proceedings before the Colorado Court of Appeals.

Oral Argument Policies and and Procedures

The Court of Appeals strongly favors holding oral arguments at the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center.  However, the Court recognizes that this is not always possible and has implemented technology to allow hybrid oral arguments where one or more participants appear virtually, and the others appear in person.
