General Statement Of Duties

Summary of Job Classification:
Supervises and participates in the administration, enforcement, and collection of all restitution, fines, and costs ordered by the Court. Implements assertive collection techniques with professionalism and integrity.

Essential Functions Of the Position

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. Provides management and oversight of work and performance for the designated team. Creates and manages schedules for staff. Delegates assignments, reviews and approves timecards, oversees training, and coaches and mentors staff for individual and collaborative success.

Collaborates with other units. Maintains knowledge and adheres to records retention policies. Designs, evaluates, and improves team processes and procedures.

Manages hiring process for openings, including interviewing and onboarding. Develops and maintains training plans for all team members.

Provides customer service, including responding to emails and calls from staff, courtrooms, and the public, researching and reviewing complaints or disputes, and providing coverage as needed.

De-escalates and resolves issues involving irate and upset customers, both internal and external. Serves as a liaison for the team and the public, or outside agencies, facilitating communication with judicial officers.

Reviews and processes collections reports. Collects and analyzes data. Adheres to and communicates updates regarding best business practices. Updates local procedures and communicates legislative updates. Participates in local and statewide committees.

Assists with financial and budget reviews for defendants. Utilizes resources to determine income, assets, and expenses to evaluate ability to pay and apply appropriate collection enforcements. Locates and resolves financial discrepancies. Prepares grant application and statistical data reports. Reviews and prepares special reports and financial asset reports for economic crime cases.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities

Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees (1 or more full-time employees) including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/ effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. The work performed by majority of employees is semi complex.

Minimum Education

Education and Experience Equivalency:
High school diploma and G.E.D.

OR

Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.

Work Related Experience: 
5 to 7 years of experience in an administrative field.

Physical Effort Requirements:
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
