Juror Requests and Service Certificates

Please note, we DO NOT process juror postponements or disqualifications by phone. All requests must be made in writing.

Click Here to Submit a Postponement Request | Colorado Judicial Branch - All jurors are entitled to a one-time postponement of up to 6 months from their summons date. We require a date be provided where you can commit to attend on a Monday through Thursday (excluding holidays), and we will do our best to accommodate your preferred date. Postponement requests must be made 5 business days prior to your appearance date. We will only contact you if your request is not granted.

Click Here to Submit a Disqualification request | Colorado Judicial Branch - Please carefully review Section 2 of your summons for details regarding what may qualify you for disqualification or excusal. For any medical (including breastfeeding) or caregiving exemptions, a note from a licensed medical professional specifically stating the juror cannot perform jury duty for medical reasons is required. Medical statements can be sent to the jury office via mail, email, or fax (970-549-9647).

There are no economic, age-related, or occupational exclusions from jury service. Students (including those attending school out-of-state) are not disqualified from jury service if their home of record is Mesa County. Please see postponement option above and provide dates when the student is home from school to complete their service.

If you do not meet any of criteria on the summons to be disqualified from jury service but still wish to be excused and your juror # is required to report, you will have the opportunity the day of your service to speak with the Judge and parties and they will consider your hardship during the selection process.
