Judge Benjamin (“Ben”) Figa serves as a state district court judge for Colorado’s 18th Judicial District and is assigned to a civil division out of Arapahoe County. Prior to his appointment in July 2022, he was Special Counsel at Burns, Figa & Will P.C., where he practiced primarily as a civil litigator. Additionally, Judge Figa was an Assistant City Attorney for the City and County of Denver’s Municipal Operations Section (2015-2017), a Deputy Legal Counsel for the Office of Governor John W. Hickenlooper (2013-2015), and a Deputy District Attorney in the 20th Judicial District (2011-2013). His other professional experience includes working as an associate at Semple, Farrington & Everall, P.C. (2010-2011) and as a law clerk for Chief Justice Michael L. Bender (Ret.) of the Colorado Supreme Court (2009-2010). He earned his B.A. from Northwestern University in 2004 and his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2009.
