Prior to becoming a Magistrate, Mr. Doak worked at the Fort Collins City Attorney’s Office, assigned as a municipal prosecutor, advisor to the Homelessness Outreach Proactive Engagement team of the Fort Collins Police Department, and attorney for all marijuana licensing and enforcement issues. Prior to working with the City of Fort Collins, Mr. Doak worked as a Deputy District Attorney for the 19th Judicial District, covering a wide range of misdemeanor, juvenile and felony matters. He started his career at the Doak Law Office, handling primarily domestic relations cases and general civil litigation matters. He also worked with the late Tim Dow focusing on water law, as well as business and real-estate transactions.
Mr. Doak graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a degree in Japanese Language and Literature. While at CU, Ethan spent a year at the University of Tsukuba, Japan, studying Japanese and international relations. In 2004 Ethan received an MBA from Colorado State University and later received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wyoming.
