Conducts audits of Judicial related operations and entities to determine the adequacy of internal controls, compliance with established criteria, and the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
Positions in this classification are distinguished from other Auditor classifications by the performance of entry level to intermediate level audit work. Staff in this position develop and enhance auditing skills.
Conducts interviews and collects, reviews, and analyzes information and data in order to identify and develop audit objectives and issues.
Evaluates the relevance and importance of accounting, auditing, and management theories, concepts, and principles in order to apply them to different circumstances.
Evaluates the reliability of reports and records and the sufficiency of operations, and assesses the degree of compliance with established policies and procedures.
Reviews and analyzes supporting documentation and information contained in, but not limited to, case files, probation records, conservator reports, personnel records, and payment vouchers.
Compiles and documents audit findings and identifies recommendations.
Discusses findings with management or judicial officers and prepares drafts of audit reports of Judicial related operations and other entities.
In-state travel to audit sites required.
Attends meetings and training as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsible for one's own work product. May provide assistance or explain work instructions to co-workers.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and one year of professional auditing experience. Progressively responsible work experience in a field related to the assignment, which provided the same kind, amount and level of knowledge acquired in the required education may substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. This position is subject to varying and unpredictable situations, may handle emergency or crisis situations, is subject to many interruptions, may handle multiple calls and inquiries simultaneously, and may occasionally handle absentee replacement on short notice.
