General Statement Of Duties

Provides professional human resources services for the Colorado Judicial Department.  The Human Resources Workforce Data Analyst provides management assistance by designing, implementing, and maintaining workforce analytics for the Judicial Department.  The position analyzes and interprets a wide variety of human resources data to assist in identifying strategies and initiatives impacting compensation, recruitment, organizational development and other human resources related areas.  This position may be assigned a variety of special project-based work.

Distinguishing Factors

The Human Resources Workforce Data Analyst is distinguished from other human resources classifications due to the responsibility of identifying, organizing and interpreting workforce data.  This classification reports to the Total Compensation Manager.

Essential Functions Of the Position

Works with all levels of management as needed for consulting on data, reporting or planning needs.

Researches and analyzes data representing the organization's operations and workforce demographics. Interprets trends, gaps, opportunities and patterns of human resource measures.

Researches and develops new methods for collecting data to represent in easily comprehensible graphics.

Works with various partners to design and develop relational databases for collecting data.

Responds to data requests with useful products enabling actionable outcomes that utilize the most credible and effective data sources.

Maintains and prepares reports that communicate findings from data analyses and provide recommendations for management.

Presents detailed and comprehensive reports to a variety of audiences.

Develops proposals and recommendations for new, revised, and/or improved work processes, policies, procedures, practices, and methods.

Responsible for maintaining databases and extracting data for analysis.

Conducts surveys and studies to collect relevant HR data.

Serves as a subject matter expert for employee related data including headcount, turnover, and other metrics as requested.

Attends meetings and training as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities

Responsible for one's own work product and may provide guidance, assistance, or mentorship to less knowledgeable or experienced coworkers, volunteers, or interns.  This may include scheduling of work, instructing in work methods, and reviewing work products.

Minimum Education

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in public administration, statistics, mathematics, business or a related filed and three years’ experience in administrative, management, and operational analysis work.  Additional work experience in these or other related field may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.

OR

One year of experience as an Analyst in the Colorado Judicial Department.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.  This position is subject to varying and unpredictable situations; may handle emergency or crisis situations; is subject to many interruptions; may handle multiple calls and inquiries simultaneously; and may occasionally handle absentee replacement on short notice.  Position may require frequent travel with overnight stays.
