General Statement Of Duties

Summary of Job Classification:
The IT Information Management Lead is responsible for leading, maturing, sustaining, and coordinating the ITS Accessibility and Data Governance Programs for the ITS Department for the Colorado Judicial Branch. This individual is also responsible for managing communications and trainings for Accessibility and Data Governance.

Essential Functions Of the Position

Leads and matures the Data Governance Council via communication, education, meetings, organization, and strategic initiatives.

Leads and matures the Accessibility Program at Judicial including creating, updating, and sustaining policies and procedures; training direct reports; developing Judicial-wide trainings and communications; and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations.

Defines, documents, updates, sustains, and continuously implements a data governance framework.

Maintains, updates, appropriately documents data flow maps, processes related to all systems, and procedures appropriate summaries and reports for these documents.

Maintains, updates, and ensures appropriate implementation of a data classification schema.

Creates and enforces data retention and accessibility policies.

Designs and implements data classification and accessibility policies.

Provides training on accessibility and data governance best practices.

Understands and effectively utilizes assistive technologies such as screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA), magnifiers, and other assistive tools, to enhance the user experience of individuals with disabilities.

Understands and effectively utilizes accessibility testing tools such as AXE or WAVE, as well as manual testing methodologies.

Liaises with ITS Security and other appropriate departments and stakeholders concerning data governance efforts.

Provides supervision to direct reports for accessibility and data governance efforts.

Identifies barriers to accessibility, analyzes the root cause, and provides or recommends effective solutions.

Attends meetings and trainings as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities

Work requires leading/managing and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees (1 or more full time employees) including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed.

Minimum Education

Education and Experience Equivalency:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with bachelor’s degree in information technology, library science, information science, knowledge management or related field.

OR

Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.

Work Related Experience: 
Minimum of 1 year (2-3 years preferred) of working experience related to data governance, information management, and/or accessibility responsibilities related to the essential functions of the job classification.

Physical Demands

Sedentary Work-Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
