General Statement Of Duties

Summary of Job Classification:
The ITS Knowledge Management Specialist works for the Colorado Judicial Department, Information Technology Services (ITS) Department and is responsible for managing the Judicial Department’s Case Management System and maturing the knowledge management for the Colorado Judicial Department.  This includes overseeing all knowledge bases; storing, sharing, and deleting of information; and developing and delivering appropriate communications and trainings. This position will also assist with the program’s accessibility needs.

  • Maintains the knowledge databases including but not limited to SharePoint, ServiceNow and Alfresco, and ensure efficient and secure storing, sharing, deleting or archiving of information.
  • Manages the knowledge management system’s data security and privacy controls and upholds accessibility guidelines with the goal of refining the organization’s knowledge bases. 
  • Develops a culture of knowledge sharing to build a collaborative workflow among departments and project teams.
  • Defines and implements an information life cycle for each knowledge base.
  • Establishes and maintains standardized naming conventions and file structures for each knowledge base. 
  • Delivers appropriate communications and training to champion knowledge management and accessibility culture.
  • Monitors progress and tracks engagement, project outcomes, and other metrics for accessibility and knowledge management efforts.
  • Supports other information management personnel with data governance or knowledge management needs.
  • Upholds all accessibility needs by using Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Attends meetings and completes training as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Fiscal Responsibility:

Minimum Education

Education and Experience Equivalency:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in information science, library science, or related field.

OR

Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.

Work Related Experience: 
One (1) year of work-related experience in information governance and/or accessibility.

Licenses and Certifications: 
None. 

Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of work-related experience related to information governance.

Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office or similar indoor environment.

Work Environment/Locations:
Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
