General Statement Of Duties

Summary of Job Classification:
Monitors and tracks reporting requirements of court appointed guardians and conservators. Assists the Court in assessing guardian and conservator expenditures.

Essential Functions Of the Position

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. Oversees guardianships and conservatorships for minors and individuals who are vulnerable due to health and mental reasons.

Reviews annual and special reports for adult and minor wards subject to a guardianship or conservatorship. Reviews case documentation and issuing orders. Ensures all documentation is accurate and compliant. Maintains documents per records retention guidelines.

Creates case files, processes clerk reviews, scans and uploads supporting documentation. Completes changes of venue requests, issues letters of appointment, and reviews and processes data integrity reports.

Validates detailed and appropriate financial activity. Verifies math calculations, transfer of figures, reasonableness of expenses, and accounting of assets. Ensures complete accounting of the Respondent’s estate responsibly. Composes and issues orders or letters to correct deficiencies. Rejects pleadings that do not meet standards.

Makes determinations regarding appointment of Personal Representatives. Composes and issues orders and letters when appropriate. Requests additional information from applicants to correct deficiencies as needed.

Provides customer service to court visitors, courtroom staff, and members of the public. Answers questions and inquires and shares court and case information as appropriate via phone, email, and in person.

Ensures compliance with new legislative and amendments and Chief Justice Directives (CJD). Attends monthly meetings with State Court Administrator's Office and annual meetings as outlined by CJD.

Tracks and monitors all probate cases, including protective proceedings and estate. Schedules and addresses review dates, drafts issues to prevent delay of cases, and ensures all parties comply with issued orders.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities

Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees. The work performed by majority of employees is complex.

Minimum Education

Education and Experience Equivalency:
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Psychology, Sociology, Financial or related field.

OR

Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.

Work Related Experience: 
1 to 3 years of experience in social work or similar field.

Physical Effort Requirements:
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only.
