Court Closures

All Trial Court and Probation offices will be closed all day:
Monday, November 11, 2024, in recognition of Veterans Day
Thursday, November 28, 2024, for Thanksgiving Day 
Wednesday, December 25, 2024, for Christmas Day
Wednesday, January 1, 2024, for New Years Day

Fort Collins Trial Court offices will be closed from 11:30am-1:30pm on Friday, December 13, 2024, for an all-staff event.
Loveland Trial Court offices will be closed from 11:00am-2:00pm on Friday, December 13, 2024, for an all-staff event. 

All Trial Court and Probation offices will close from 12:00pm-5:00pm for each of the following days:

Warrant Clearance Event and Community Resource Event - Fall 2024

A warrant clearance and community resource fair will be held at the Larimer County Justice Center, 201 LaPorte Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80521, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, 9:00am-2:00pm. No arrests will be made for those attending the event. 
Offenses eligible for warrant clearance are:
    - Misdemeanor, Traffic, and Petty Drug charges (except those listed as Ineligible below)
    - Drug Felony 4 (DF4) charges
    - Fort Collins Municipal Court charges
    - Class 5 and Class 6 Felonies (except those listed as Ineligible below)
    - Failure to Register
Ineligible offenses for warrant clearance are:
    - Out-of-County Warrants
    - Domestic Violence Misdemeanors or Felonies
    - Any Victim Rights cases (VRA)
    - Careless Driving Causing Death or Injury
    - Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender
    - Felony Eluding
    - Sex Offenses (except Failure to Register)
    - Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 Felonies (excluding DF4)
    - Pending jury trial on case where warrant is issued
    - Sentence to jail and warrant is from failure to appear for execution of sentence
In addition to clearing warrants, attendees can connect with community resources for health, employment, and other assistance. Organizations in attendance include SummitStone Health Partners; Homeward Alliance; the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment, the Department of Human Services, the Veterans Service Office; Disabled Resource Services, and more.

New Legislation Regarding Automatic Sealing of Criminal Cases

ORDER TO SEAL AUTOMATICALLY

Colorado lawmakers passed a new law that requires courts to automatically seal certain eligible criminal conviction cases after a waiting period.  “Sealing a case" means making it inaccessible to the general public. This can include minor offenses where you received a ticket, had a court date, or completed a plea agreement, sometimes without even going to court.  If you received an Order To Seal Automatically, this was automatically generated when a case you were involved in was sealed.

Sealed records are not available to the public.  Court staff cannot give you specific information or verify the details of a sealed case.  If your case was sealed and you want more information, you can submit a record request form (08RecordRequest@judicial.state.co.us ) to the court to ask for information or documents. The court must receive proper identification before discussing or providing documents for a sealed case. If you receive a document saying your case is sealed, keep it for your records. You don't need to do anything else with the court.
